"In the beginning everything
was in a constant state of fullness: the trees were in leaf, the birds
were on wing, the land was in flower. The People also were in their
prime, that is to say, their first state of fullness.
Then Mother Earth
decided to teach The People to think, to feel, and to imagine. So she
made the leaves to fall, the birds to lay eggs, the caterpillars to
become the butterflies, and all things to exist in a state of change:
rising, falling, and rising again.
The People experienced all this and began to tell stories."
